Choir
Our repertoire is centered on plainsong, and we sing the proper chants for each Sunday and Feast Day observance.
While these are sung in English, our chants are notated with the traditional Gregorian square note system, and the chants are closely patterned after the original Gregorian melodies as found in the Liber Usualis.
The core of our anthem and motet literature comes from the Tudor school of composition, notably the composers Thomas Tallis and William Byrd. We also sing a considerable range of Romantic, 20th Century, and Contemporary compositions, including many pieces written specifically for our ensemble. In addition to several evensong and other special services throughout the choral season, we sing a spring concert every year.
Past programs have featured works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Benjamin Britten, and Arvo Pärt.
Membership is open to all singers proficient in reading music following a brief introductory session. To schedule an appointment, contact choirmaster Jason Overall.
